"Calendar of Edo: From Summer to Autumn" Exhibition

Ota Memorial Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Hiroshige Utagawa et al.
The people of Edo enjoyed various seasonal events and practices that accompanied changes in the seasons. During summer, they watched fireworks and enjoyed the slight but refreshing evening breeze. In autumn, people gazed at the moon, listened to the sound of insects and enjoyed the Star Festival. In this exhibition, we will introduce viewers to the lifestyles of the Edo people through ukiyo-e woodblock prints.
