Rinjiro Hasegawa Exhibition

Hiratsuka Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Rinjiro Hasegawa
Rinjiro Hasegawa's career as painter spanned the prewar and postwar periods, during which he developed and honed a unique realist style. He took a detached, rather aloof attitude towards the artistic trends of the time and disavowed any affiliations with official artistic circles - a stance that earned him a special place in the history of modern Japanese art. This retrospective exhibition, the first to be held at a public museum, showcases a whole range of works from his early career up until his late period.
