"Masks" Exhibition

Chiba City Museum of Art
Finished
Found all over the world, masks have long been closely associated with the human spirit. Those who wear them are said to be able to transform into someone or something else, while almost all the performing arts whose actors wear masks have a strong connection to rituals and ceremonies. This exhibition showcases over 150 masks from Japan, Asia, Oceania and Africa that display a pure, universal sense of sculptural beauty.

Related events and talks also scheduled. See website for details (Japanese only).
