Yuichi Yokoyama
Yuichi Yokoyama was born in 1967 in Miyazaki prefecture. After studying oil painting at an art university, he began drawing manga. To date he has produced many manga pieces including "New Engineering", "Travel", "Niwa", "Outdoor" and "Baby Boom", all of which have won high acclaim both in and out of Japan.

Yokoyama's manga, which he describes as "drawing time", is a clear departure from common story form manga, with sparse dialogue and bold use of Japanese onomatopoeia. Characters move around freely in an atmosphere that is uncanny yet attractive - a "neo-manga" setting that overcomes the limits of a two-dimensional medium to bring fresh surprises and excitement to the viewer.

On display at this exhibition are silkscreened versions of original illustrations from cult manga artist’s new book “Baby Boom Final”. There will also be a live drawing session on June 3rd and 4th.
