Portugal used to be a leading sea power during the golden age of ocean exploration. Because of this history of militant conquest it has tended to suffer from a negative reputation in the postcolonial period. This exhibition of video works by 4 Portuguese artists, which is also being held to mark the 150th anniversary of friendly commercial relations between Japan and Portugal, attempts to reconsider the image of Portugal in light of this.
