"Japan: A Self-Portrait - Photographs 1945-1964" Exhibition
This event has ended.
After the end of WWII in 1945, a defeated Japan clawed its way back from ruin, undergoing a dramatic social and economic transformation that culminated in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, a symbolic milestone that saw Japan join the league of major global economic powers. On display are 168 photos selected by Marc Feustel, a Paris-based researcher of Japanese photography that reflect the spirit of Japan in the postwar period.
