The Embassy of Canada presents "Jacqurd 2x2 Montreal: Tokyo" at its Prince Takamado Gallery from September 9 to November 3. The exhibition features Jacquard works by Louise Lemieux Berube, Julianna Joos, Mitsuko Akutsu, and Emiko Nakano all of whom have worked in Berube's studio. Berube is a distinguished Canadian pioneer in the innovative use of Jacquard techniques in textile weaving and is a co-founder of the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles. Louise Lemieux Berube will give a lecture titled "Creation of Textiles and Computers" at the Oscar Peterson Theater at the Canadian Embassy on September 10th (Fri) starting at 18:30.
