Artists

Shomei Tomatsu
At his exhibition "Muddy Monarchy" in 1978, Shomei Tomatsu depicted the peaceful days of Afghanistan, a country he visited in the 60's. This exhibition is a reminder of the beautiful, conflict-free past of "the land of smiles", showcasing photos that memorialize the gorgeous landscapes and peaceful lives of its people.

He expresses his wishes for the future of a country thrown into turmoil by globalization: "As-Salamu Alaykum", "may peace be upon you."

About 40 works will be exhibited.
