Keiko Minami
*Due to concerns over the safety of our visitors, storage of artworks and the planned blackouts, the museum has been closed but will reopen from April 10th.

Keiko Minami (1911-2004) was a Japanese printmaker born in Toyama who worked in Paris and San Francisco after the war. Using motifs like birds, trees and girls, she made prints that were collected by the MoMA in New York and used for UNICEF cards. This exhibition, which commemorates the 100th anniversary of her birth, was realized with the help and support of three poets, who have written new work to complement Minami's prints: Shuntaro Tanikawa, a close friend of Minami, Yumi Fuzuki and Mimi Hachikai. On display is a selection of abstract paintings from Minami's sketchbooks that are being exhibited for the first time, as well as prints, paintings, drawings and even the artist's own worktable.
