Ryoma Sakamoto was one of the Japanese innovators who served as a driving force during the Meiji Restoration. Despite the fact that he passed away at the young age of 33, he has been depicted in countless novels and films, still boasting enormous popularity.

This exhibition takes a look back on his tumultuous life through his portraits and photographs of his contemporaries and milieu.
