"Hold the Clock" Exhibition

Zou-no-hana Terrace
Finished

Artists

Yoshiko Chuma, Root Culture
"Hold the Clock" is a documentary-style theater piece that emerged out of an encounter between the New York-based Yoshiko Chuma and the Kamakura-based creative collective Root Culture. Although it is based on the postmodern Japanese literary masterpiece "Goodbye Gangs" by Genichiro Takahashi, a writer who also has strong connections to Root Culture, "Hold the Clock" is a hybrid mix of a variety of media, including theater, dance, film, music and food. An installation that makes use of the stage set and film footage will also be exhibited at the same venue in advance of the performance.

Mini performances will be held every day for the duration of the event, with the form of each day's performance changing daily.

A post-performance talk by Yoshiko Chuma and invited guests will be held as follows:
February 26th (Fri) with Tetsuya Ozaki (editor of ART iT)
February 27th (Sat) with Genichiro Takahashi
