Toshikatsu Endo was born in Gifu in 1950 and currently lives in Saitama. From He has been creating monumental sculptures since 1970 using basic elements of nature such as water, wood, soil and fire. He was chosen to represent Japan at the Venice Biennale in 1990, and has shown his work at many other international exhibitions - the Sao Paolo Biennale (1994, Brazil), Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (2003, Japan), and “Personal Structures: Time-Space-Existence” (2010, Austria).

On view at this exhibition are new works from his Waterway and Cave Theory series.
