Ichiro Fukuzawa (1898-1992), who went to France in 1924 to study painting, is widely regarded as the father of Surrealist painting in Japan, exerting a profound influence on the young artists of the time. This exhibition introduces viewers to the work of the study group that he founded along with Tatsue Hayase, Kikuji Yamashita and Ryosaku Takayama.
