Since graduating from Tokyo Zokei University in 2009, Tanka has been working as a cameraman while continuing to pursue his art. In his works, which deal with the dramatic moments that lie concealed in the everyday, substance and time undergoes a transformation. Multiple time axes seem to coexist within a single painting, causing the viewer to experience the uncanny sensation of having wandered onto a stage.
