Artists

Morihiro Hosokawa, Terunobu Fujimori
Morihiro Hosokawa was born in Tokyo in 1938. After serving as the 79th prime minister of Japan from 1993 to 1994, he retired from politics at the age of 60 and began practicing pottery, calligraphy and other artistic pursuits at his residence in Kanagawa. He has since received high acclaim for his ceramics despite starting with no experience whatsoever, holding several solo exhibitions throughout Japan.

On display at this exhibition is a "landscape" installation of paintings, tea bowls and ceramics, along with a teahouse designed by the architect Terunobu Fujimori, whom Hosokawa has long enjoyed a close association with in both a private and professional context.
