Akira Ikezoe
Akira Ikezoe was born in Kochi Prefecture in 1979 and graduated from the printmaking department of Tama Art University. He won both the Tomio Koyama Gallery Prize and the Naruyama Gallery prize at Geisai #10 in 2006. Ikezoe's distinctive style, which makes abundant use of organic images drawn mainly from Japanese mythology, depict an implausibly eternal world and a fleeting, transient reality that explores the possibilities of his chosen medium after the so-called demise of painting.

This is Ikezoe's first solo show in Japan, showcasing a selection of oil paintings, watercolors, photographs and sculptures.
