Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Vassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, August Macke, Alexej Jawlensky et al.
The Blue Rider (Der Blaue Reiter) group led by Vassily Kandinsky was a revolutionary early 20th century movement that exerted a profound influence on subsequent artistic developments. Drawing on the collection of the Lenbachhaus Museum in Munich, this first retrospective of the Blue Rider group in Japan showcases some 60 oil paintings by Kandinsky, Franz Marc, August Macke and other artists from a short-lived movement that was soon swallowed up by World War I.
