A showcase for the discovery and development of young artists' talents, New Directions is a curatorial project co-organized by the Kyoto University of Art and Design and Tokyo Wonder Site. The missions of this project is to shed light on the works of students and recent graduates of art universities in Japan and abroad and to help develop their artistic careers.

Last year, Shigeo Goto (Professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design) and Kazue Kobata (Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts) co-curated an exhibition of seven artists selected from art universities across Japan. This year's edition welcomes co-curator Prof. Chien-Hung Huang from the Taipei National University of the Arts, one of the program's partner institutions.
