Young women have become increasingly attracted to Buddha statues of late. These figures have been molded into shape by a human hand, as if they were being given a soul.
Shibata, who believes in the creativity and hidden possibilities that lie latent within innocent children, is a contemporary version of the Buddhist image maker and craftsman.
