Riyu Kim "Ceramics as New Exoticism"

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2
Finished

Artists

Riyu Kim
Riyu Kim is an artist who makes ceramic urn-shaped objects with a central embedded "eye" that look as if they have been crafted out of black metal. Their surfaces are riddled with linear depressions in various geometric patterns, giving one the impression of a spaceship produced by some highly advanced but as-yet-unknown civilization. On display at this exhibition are two of Kim's most recent works.
