Ai Yamaguchi
This solo exhibition by Ai Yamaguchi is being held in conjunction with the eagerly anticipated release of "Hogara Hogara," the first monograph of her work to be published. Since her debut in 1998, Yamaguchi has been making works inspired by the Edo period that offer a fresh interpretation of Japanese culture and customs, waka poetry lyrics and traditional crafts, imbuing them with new, multiple layers of meaning. This centerpiece of this exhibition is a large wood panel painting that is actually a remake of a work featured on the book jacket of her monograph.
