Edo seen by Ryoma - Scenery in the Late Edo Period
This event has ended.
At Ota Memorial Museum of Art
Media: Drawing
Many ukiyo-e prints were produced in the late Edo period at a time of social and political upheaval. The works on display, including satirical pieces and depictions of the old capital city, evoke the landscapes that were intricately tied to the life and times of Ryoma Sakamoto who worked to overthrow the Shogunate and create a modern Japanese government.
