Chen Ruo Bing has spent nearly twenty years in Germany. It seems that he has arrived at his own original painting style, which easily sidesteps the framework of confrontation between "East" and "West". His fundamental stance, however, remains that of a Chinese painter working in a modern European cultural context. Recently, Chen has become interested in "bodies of light" and is creating works in a new direction.
This is his seventh one-person show at taguchi fine art. About 20 works, including some pieces on loan from private collections in Japan, will be on view.
