Yanaka Ginza Gourmet & Tokyo Shitamachi Art Hunting Tour

3331 Arts Chiyoda
Finished
This edition of Art Hunting takes participants on a tour of the galleries located in one of Tokyo's most charming "shitamachi" (old downtown) areas.

The first stop is Kosei Sasaki's exhibition of large-scale abstract paintings at 3331 Arts Chiyoda. "OK. Perfect. Yes." is Sasaki's first show of new works in almost 40 years. We will then move on to view Takenobu Yanagida's work at A/A Gallery, a space that nurtures and supports artists with disabilities that is also located in 3331.

Next on the itinerary is the British sculptor Anish Kapoor's exhibition at SCAI The Bathhouse, a former "sento" with 7 meter high ceilings that is more than 200 years old.

We will also visit the Yuki Mashimo show at Yuka Sasahara Gallery, the Masae Kiriya exhibition at Gallery Terra Tokyo, and Erika Verzutti's "Chopping Board" show at Misako and Rosen, her first solo show in Japan. In addition, we'll take a stroll down the Yanaka Ginza shopping street to sample some delicious "shitamachi" specialties.
