Hokusai Katsushika
Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) is known as a master ukiyo-e artist not only in Japan but also to the world. Some of his most renowned works include “Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji” and “Hokusai Manga (Hokusai’s Sketches)”. This year, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of Katsushika Hokusai’s birth by holding an exhibition on Hokusai’s diverse artistic activities. We will exhibit approximately 200 prints during the two month period divided into two parts. The 1st part is titled “Ever-Changing Talent” and the 2nd part “Later Years: 'Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji'”.
