Tsuguharu Fujita
Leonard Tsuguharu Fujita (1886-1968) was a legendary figure in the painting circles of early 20th century France and Japan. He returned to Japan during WWII and created a series of powerful war paintings. After being severely criticized at the end of the War, he finally returned to Paris via America and thereafter became a naturalized French citizen.

This exhibition features watercolors, prints, illustrated letters, ceramics and other works from the Sherman Collection of the Meguro Museum of Art, including his animal series of oil paintings and "10 Children" from 1924.
