Artists

Maurice Utrillo
Maurice Utrillo (1883-1955) was born out of wedlock in Paris to Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938), a model for famous painters such as Renoir and a painter in her own right. This exhibition features more than 90 pieces showcasing the transition of Utrillo’s work from his Montmagny period, when he started painting as part of his recovery from alcoholism, to his white period and on to his colorist period. All of the paintings in this exhibition will be shown for the first time in Japan.
