The boom in Jakuchu Ito's popularity continues - a retrospective of his work was held at the Kyoto National Museum on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his death, and several monographs on his work and career have been published.

This exhibition focuses on Ito's ink paintings, and also includes related works executed in color. In addition, viewers will also be able to acquaint themselves with the history of ink paintings through a special showcase of the work of Obaku school artists such as Wakashiba Kawamura.
