Kuniyoshi Kaneko
At the height of Japan's period of high economic growth in the 1960s, a time when change was forcibly demanded of a whole range of businesses, Kuniyoshi Kaneko spent her time developing and honing her distinctive aesthetic, making her debut in the art world with a sensational impact. Her work was infused with an erotic charge and a sense of dangerous impulse, but also a feeling of sacred beauty.

This is Kaneko's 5th exhibition at Bunkamura Gallery featuring new oil paintings and prints (on display and for sale) inspired by one of the world's most controversial works of erotic literature, the Marquis de Sade's "Juliette, or Vice Amply Rewarded".
