Cedric Bregnard
"iGrow" is the first exhibition in Japan by the young Swiss-based photographer Cedric Bregnard. Its themes are life and nature.

Born in 1974, Bregnard graduated in 1998 from the photography school in Vevey, Switzerland. He currently works from his Lausanne atelier. His "Seeds" and "Plants" series are taken in extreme close-up, revealing the fine details of his subjects and introducing us to a mysterious world normally unavailable to our visual sense, even though it surrounds us.

The core of Bregnard's works lies in the question about the mystery of life: How does a form of latent life develop into a living being? The eye of the photographer, which dwells and focuses on the seeds and their budding, shows deep respect for the formative beauty of nature.
The seeds and seedlings, these most beautiful expressions of life and nature, are gradually captured over a course of time, developed in enormous scale, revealing them as breathtaking presences. We realize that the awakening seedlings carry enormous condensed energy beneath their fragile appearance as they prepare to blossom.

"iGrow" is an exhibition which examines the relationship of the two major forces on earth: Nature and Man. One question underlies the exhibition: Does Man allow Nature to remind him of his own "Naturality"? The title "iGrow" implies further developments in technology, as well as the phrase "I grow", an assertion of nature as a perpetual becoming. In the exhibition, Bregnard's works are presented by the series: "Doors", "Amaryllis", "Fly", "Vital Energy", "Origin", and "Jungle".
