Miyuki Mitsui "Black Party"

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2
Finished

Artists

Miyuki Mitsui
Mitsui has created an installation using photographs taken herself, acrylic painting tools, mirrors and other pre-existing objects. This work, composed from familiar materials, appears like the nook of a real room, but is also like the altar in a funeral, presenting us with mysterious impressions similar to that of prayer.

Mitsui's works are created during daily life; they give off a presence from within like an individual religion. They can be seen as ways in which we place ourselves into a single cell within society.
