Anri Sala
Kaikai Kiki is proud to present a new solo show by Albanian artist Anri Sala (born 1974). After studying art in France, Anri was awarded the Young Artist Prize at the 2001 Venice Biennale and now works from Berlin, where he creates artwork for exhibitions at institutions and museums around the world.

Known for his time-based works, Anri Sala has a deep interest in the relationship between images, sound, and space. By restructuring these elements in real time, he casts new light on the scenes and sensations of our everyday life and presents us with society and humanity.

Featuring a number of new works in an environment penetrated by the snare drum sound of the installation Doldrum, this exhibition will include the three video pieces Le Clash, Tlatelolco Clash, and Long Sorrow. It will also present a piece called No Window No Cry, which involves the resonance generated by a music box and a window of different architecture from that of the gallery itself. With live music on a barrel organ and other elements, the gallery will be transformed into a unique expanse through which visitors can experience a philosophical exploration of sound and space.
