"Bambini di Reggio Emilia" Exhibition

Watari-um, The Watari Museum of Contemporary Art
Finished
During WWII, a local community of farmers and laborers founded a special school in Reggio Emilia, a small town in northern Italy. The school kept faithful records of the wonder and surprise that its students experienced, nurturing and analyzing them in order to launch a variety of educational projects. The most distinctive aspect of the Reggio Emilia approach was how it encouraged children to discover their latent possibilities through the creative experience of making art. This exhibition showcases the amazing creativity of this program and the astonishing educational environment that it promotes, centered on concepts such as “dialogue with place” and “conversations with objects”.
