This is Maya Hewitt's second solo show at Misako & Rosen. Hewitt is a London-based artist who has shown her work at "Passion Fruits" (2010), held at Berlin's Thomas Olbricht Collection, La Cathedrale in Paris and "Elusive Dreams", a traveling exhibition held at the Irish Museum of Contemporary Art in Dublin in 2009.
At this show, Hewitt takes her work in a new direction. Instead of the immersive installations that made use of the entire gallery space from floor to ceiling, Hewitt will present a series of individual, standalone canvases that mark a return to figurative painting.
