Artists

Takashi Homma
Takashi Homma is one of Japan's foremost contemporary photographers. His unique style characterized by a sense of detachment from his subjects, cool unemotional gaze and restrained colors have all won him much acclaim. Homma started out shooting photos for advertising campaigns and fashion magazines in the late 80s and later spent the early 1990s in London working for i-D magazine. He won the Ihei Kimura Prize in 1999 for "Tokyo Suburbia", a collection of photos depicting the landscapes and people of Tokyo's suburbs. This is Homma's first solo show at a museum, focusing on works produced since 2005.

This show was previously held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and will subsequently travel to the Marugame Genichiro Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art.
