Published in collaboration with Aperture, Rinko Kawauchi's new photography book “Illuminance” is a collection of work taken over a period of some 15 years that refines and expands on the worldview captured in her previous monograph "Utatane".
These new works explore the theme of light and darkness, life, death and universality, reflected through the distinctive "illuminance" that filters through her lens. The book is her new monograph in ten years, to be published simultaneously in 5 countries. This is also Kawauchi's first Tokyo solo show in four years.
