”Slash / 04 found a pocket” Exhibition

Harukaito by Island
Finished

Artists

Takuya Ikezaki, Yutaka Watanabe
This, the fourth dual "SLASH" exhibition, is not simply a show featuring two artists' work side by side, but a completely pre-planned event based on a jointly decided concept and mutual image.

The title "found a pocket" suggests motifs of air pockets suddenly appearing in the sky, or being suddenly spirited away from our regular lives to a different world, to be utterly sucked into a separate dimension. They will build in the exhibition space a gate that gives us free entrance to come and go to a place that is nowhere and also can be everywhere, a place we surely all of us used to know.

Ikezaki will use paper and spheres, as well as veneer and blue sheeting, while Watanabe will create 2D collages, building a utterly architectural painting. Both their works fluctuate between the 2D and 3D, and give us an opportunity to take a trip into a completely new world.
