Io Nishimura "Symphonic Photograph"

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2
Finished

Artists

Io Nishimura
Io Nishimura creates spatial installations using photographs. His early works consisted of small monitors that filled the walls of the gallery with overlapping haloes of multicolored light, which seemed to create a sort of whirlpool in the darkness. Closer inspection revealed that these were not in fact monitors, but pieces of photographic paper arranged in a slender grid formation.

This exhibition showcases a new work measuring 13 meters across and 2.3 meters high that will shift its appearance in response to the surrounding space.
