Mikiko Azuma "Fragments of Time"

This event has ended.

Mikiko Azuma takes ordinary everyday objects like cuddly toys, bagels and chocolates, and intricately portrays their atmosphere.

Her main means of expression had previously been in painting and drawing, but since last year she has used paper objects and surfaces, including mosaics made from the cut-out parts of packaging, building up landscapes of the home.

Through these fragments of packages consumed every day there are glimpses of the mundane. This exhibition also sees Azuma experiment with methodologies involving holes made in the paper by sewing needles, bringing a semi-abstract landscape into the fore.
