Artists

Shunsuke Matsumoto, Masaaki Terada, Hideo Koguma, Tadashi Yoshii, Mitsu Ai, Saburo Aso, Toshiyuki Hasegawa
Christened by the poet and essayist Hideo Koguma, the "Ikebukuro Montparnasse" was a community of artists, poets, critics, and theater people who carved out a small artistic commune near Ikebukuro station some 80 years ago.

This exhibition showcases works by artists from Itabashi who were part of the "Ikebukuro Montparnasse" community in the 1930s and 40s, including Masaaki Terada, Iwami Furusawa and Chozaburo Inoue. There will also be a special corner featuring a life-sized recreation of one of the residence-cum-ateliers of the time.
