Takeshi Abe
Takeshi Abe's work consists of grid-like arrangements of small, colored cubes on the surface of a wall. In addition to a series of two-dimensional works using cubes, this exhibition also features several three-dimensional, sculptural works that call to mind the art of Daniel Buren. By replacing the colored elements in his 2D works with light deployed within a three-dimensional space, Abe inaugurates a new direction in his artistic practice at this exhibition.
