Artists

Hiroh Kikai
Born in 1945 in Yamagata prefecture, Hiroh Kikai studied philosophy at university and then worked as a truck driver, crew member of a tuna fishing boat and various other odd jobs. An encounter with the work of Diane Arbus proved to be a decisive turning point, after which he decided to pursue photography starting in 1969.

This exhibition showcases some 200 black and white portraits of people and cities from his "Persona" and "Tokyo Labyrinth" series.
