Tomoo Seki's "Real/Red" series was inspired by the desire to capture the green hues of Asian vegetation using red, its complementary color. Objects are replaced by symbols according to a certain set of rules and individually depicted on the canvas using various media: mineral pigments, oil paint, watercolor and acrylic.
