Artists

Masanori Handa
Inspired by the landscapes and objects he encounters, Masanori Handa uses them to provoke and stimulate his own sensibilities, reflecting the disorder, incoherence and fluidity of the world in his work.

For this exhibition, Handa has reconstructed the silhouette of a 150-sided object that he saw in a mosque in either Ebina or Yoyogi Uehara a long time ago, and subsequently found again on a trip to Andalucia. This object is one of the symbols of the Islamic faith (although it is not widely recognized as such even by Muslims themselves), and the 99 names of Allah are typically written on each of its faces.
