The Shell Art Award was first held in 1956 and aims to discover young artists (40 and below) with exceptional talent in the field of modern painting. This year saw a total of 1291 entries by 903 artists. 37 works were selected for awards including the grand prize, reviewer's award and encouragement award, many of which will be presented at this exhibition.
