The National Art Center, Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Giorgio de Chirico et al.
In 1924, the young poet Andre Breton launched his Surrealist Manifesto, which sparked the largest artistic movement of the 20th century. Inspired by the laws of chance, randomness, dream, fantasy and myth, Surrealism's influence has extended not just to literature and painting, but even to the film and advertising industries. This exhibition showcases a total of 170 Surrealist paintings, sculptures, objects, sketches, photos and films and other related materials from the extensive collection of the Pompidou Center in Paris.
