"Exhibition of Restored Afghan Wall Painting Pieces"

The University Art Museum - Tokyo University of the Arts
Finished
This exhibition showcases a number of restored Buddhist murals and wall paintings from the Bamiyan and Foladi sites in Afghanistan that were transported out of the country and into Japan. Only the bare minimum of restoration work was undertaken in view of the exhibition conditions under which these works will be displayed after their repatriation, with particular attention paid to their frames.
