Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574) was a Renaissance artist and architect who served as court painter to Cosimo I. He created wall and ceiling frescoes for the Palazzo Vecchio as well as the dome painting inside the vast cupola of the Duomo in Florence. This year marks the 500th anniversary of Vasari's birth, and this exhibition traces the career of this multitalented artist, architect and sculptor, focusing mainly on the architecture of the Uffizi.
