Chihiro Ogawa
“It’s you” is a Chihiro Ogawa’s new exhibition 3 years after her last exhibition "Silent Day" in 2008. Last time she repeatedly drew bobbed hair women on big canvases with pencils. Every woman on her drawing had strange sticky smile on its face and was wearing a polka dot dress. She sometimes put a sunglass on some of these “copied” women, sometimes not. It was like a Barbie doll in calm, silent humor. Again this time, the faces in Ogawa’s recent work never tell their ages. They look like Ogawa herself, but also look like someone else we know. But you will also realize she’s entering another stage now. For example, there are some photo works of which herself and her friends are wearing mask of faces from her drawings. She’s now graduated university and working in society. This exhibition “It’s you” is her new story of asking questions about the relationship with other people in her daily life.
