The Chiyoda Art Festival "3331 Independents" is an open call exhibition at which anyone can present their work. Selected artists chosen through audience and guest review panels and voting are offered a special scholarship that includes the opportunity to hold an exhibition of their works at 3331. At the first of these festivals held in September 2010, over 350 works were presented, out of which the following 4 artists were selected for the "3331 Independents Scholarship Program": winner of the popular vote, Kosuke Iizawa; "TETTA", nominated by Masato Nakamura, director of 3331 Arts Chiyoda; Maika Kobayashi, selected by Kenjiro Hosaka (researcher at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo); and Tomo Matsuoka, selected by Seiko Ito (artist/creator). At this exhibition, audiences will be offered the opportunity to engage with new work by these promising artists.
